Defense
Mr. O’Marra defends those accused of all crimes in
the State of Georgia, including DUI, Felony and
Misdemeanor charges. As a former Police Officer and
Detective, Mr. O’Marra is well versed in how Law
Enforcement operates. From traffic violations to
drug stings, to the use of informants and
surveillance, to polygraphs, Mr. O’Marra can
navigate through a police investigation with
familiarity. Mr. O’Marra has tried scores of cases
to the Bench and Jury.
Personal Injury
Dealing with the nuances of Insurance Law is
difficult for the lay person. Mr. O’Marra has been
representing injured persons since the very
beginning of his practice and has successfully
resolved over 50 claims.
Family Law
Divorce issues are almost always emotionally
charged. Mr. O’Marra always seeks a win-win result
for his clients and the family members involved, so
the negative impact on all parties is minimized.
Biography
Born in Tipperary, Ireland in December, 1955, Mr.
O’Marra was Honorably Discharged from active duty
from the US Marine Corps in 1979. During those years
he earned Black Belts in both Shorin-Ryu and Shoto-Kan
Karate and became an instructor in martial arts
weapons. A few months after discharge he began his
10 year career as a Police Officer, and early
retired as a Detective Sergeant in South Florida.
During his career, he received 12 commendations, the
most notorious of which was for successfully solving
a multi person crime spree in Miami involving
multiple burglaries, Armed Robbery and Armed
Kidnapping. He was involved in over 250 drug
arrests, every one of which pled, without a trial.
Case preparation and details are paramount. During
his career, Mr. O’Marra attended two police
academies, (NJ and FL), Homicide Investigations,
Narcotics and Stings Operations, Facial Composite
School, Polygraph School, Interrogations, and
General Crime Scene Investigations. Mr. O’Marra was
also Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at
Chattahoochee Tech—Paulding County Campus. His
practical and formal education bodes extremely well
for a vast array of clients. |
