ESTATE PLANNING WORKSHEET (PDF)

Our estate planning practice services both the small and the large client, from wills and powers of attorney to advanced asset protection planning. Attorneys in our estate planning department hold advanced degrees such as an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU University, the top tax program in the country as well as Certified Wealth Preservation Planner and Certified Asset Protection Planner designations, allowing access to a support network that consists of the top advisors and most sophisticated material.

Our approach to all clients is to create customized plans that fit the particular family structure. Often, even smaller estates will have complex family issues that arise for a number of reasons, particularly in step-families. Proper planning can save a great deal of time, effort, and money and can even help preserve family unity after the death of a loved one by giving clear instructions. Our firm prides itself on giving clients plenty of individualized attention, rather than simply filling out forms.

For our more sophisticated estates, we use a team approach to work with your financial planners and CPAs to encourage more complete asset protection. We create a variety of structures including family limited liability companies and foreign asset protection trusts.

Many firms claim to be able to do a “simple will,” however it is important to choose a law firm that will provide the best and most complete solution, as later litigation will be far more costly than proper planning, even in the smallest of estates. Furthermore, it is important to choose a firm with the resources to handle a variety of assets and family circumstances. We also have an active probate department to guide your loved ones in handling your estate.
